Pet insurance - Tips & Advice - Essential pet information

There is something of a general belief that dog owners are drawn to dogs that have a similar temperament to their own. And there are those who say that some people even look like their dogs, which in most cases is probably not the politest thing to say!

One thing that does seem very self-evident is that dogs can have a temperament that is unique to their breed – some might even argue that dogs have a personality all of their own. So if you look at your own personality, is it possible to say that you are similar to a certain breed of dog?

Well, why don’t you answer the following questions and see if you are more like one breed than another?

1. Which type of holiday is most appealing to you?
A. Backpacking through the Far East or South America
B. A nice week in the French countryside with some close friends
C. A fortnight living it up in Ibiza
D. A driving holiday across America

2. What is your favourite colour?
A. Blue
B. Green
C. Red
D. Yellow

3.What does a usual weekend involve for you?
A. You tend not to plan and rather go wherever the mood takes you
B. Something nice and quiet, maybe dinner with friends
C. Party, party and party!
D. Some exercise and some work on a favourite project

4. Do you buy gifts for your loved ones just because you like to?
A. Not really
B. Sometimes
C. All the time
D. If I see something I think they’ll like

5. If you’re at a party, you tend to:
A.  Arrive when you feel like it and leave if you think it’s boring
B. Chat to people you already know or be a wallflower
C. Talk to everyone and make loads of new friends
D. Work your way around the room, finding interesting people

6. Which of these jobs would suit you best?
A. Running your own business
B. Something in an office
C. TV presenter
D. Computer games designer

So what type of dog are you?

If you answered mostly A, you are:a Shiba Inu
Shibas are fiercely independent and highly intelligent dogs. They have a reputation for aloofness with strangers, and obedience training is often difficult! You are happy to make your own way and tend not to rely on other people unless absolutely necessary.

Mostly B, you are:an Italian Greyhound

The Italian Greyhound is considered a good companion dog, as they are very affectionate. They also tend to be rather quiet. While generally comfortable in most situations you are happy to let others take the limelight.

Mostly C, you are:Boxer

Boxers are a bright, energetic and playful breed and tend to be very good with children if trained correctly. They are very friendly dogs and have a strong personality. You have loads of friends, are a bit of a party animal and don’t mind being the centre of attention!

Mostly D, you are a: Bloodhound

Bloodhounds are a mellow, cheerful, relaxed dog who is nonetheless tireless in slowly and steadily following a scent. Its laid-back attitude makes it somewhat difficult to obedience train. You can be doggedly determined and you will pursue a goal or answer, even if it takes some time.

A mix of A, B, C and D? Oh dear…

There’s no escaping the fact that you are a bit of a mongrel! One minute friendly, the next minute aloof, one minute energetic, the next minute lethargic. But don’t worry, there are plenty of you around!
